Kasi's Wedding!

My cousing Kasi was May 24th. I don't have brothers or sisters and Kasi was always the closest thing I ever had to a sister. I lived in the same town with her for the first several years of her life. It was hard to leave her and her brother Kent when we had to move. Seeing her get married was great. She married a man that loves her incredibly and will be an incredible step father to her 3 year old son.
Anywho, she lives in Texas and his family is in many states. Her mom still lives in Kansas where we grew up. Many of our family members, including my grandparents live in Colorado. Kasi really wanted my grandparents to be at the wedding. (We luckily have a very close family). Well, she knew if her wedding was in Texas my grandpa probably wouldn't be able to come. So, she chose to have it in Kansas. EVERY family member, except her parents, had to travel to get there. So her mom, my Aunt Laural, made fabulous welcome baskets for everyone's hotel rooms. They had homemade cookies, sunflower seeds, a visitor's guide to town, beef jerkey and other goodies. My Aunt asked me to make some cards for the baskets. That was a fun task. Of course I wanted to use a sunflower for our little Kansas town (and I do mean little town). I had recently used similar colors for a sympathy card and just continued with the same idea. Most cards are a little differnt from each other. It was more fun that way. So this is what I came up with....

Stamps: Give Thanks (I'm sad it is retiring)
Colors: old olive and summer sun, only orange
Accessories: Old Olive ribbon, pumpkin pie ribbon
non stampin' up: water color paper, hardware (biglots), dark brown grosgrain ribbon (biglots)

This second card is what I made for her Thank You cards. I just wanted to keep them simple because I made so many (50 - she probably needed more). Her base color was olive so I used old olive on these and cuttlebugged the background with swiss dots and textile. I used the monogram stamps from Martha Stuart. They are the only stamps I have of hers. They were on sale and I like them alot. When I made the protype for this card I punched some scallop circles for behind the J or a bigger round layer but then when I made the cards I forgot them! So silly. They still looked okay.

On a Personal Note: Here are some of my favorite pics from the event. For all of the pictures you can see the album at KODAK HERE.

Talk to You Soon,
