Julie Payed it Forward!

Julie B. from Paper Pleasing Ideas had a blog candy give away and I won!
<-----This is what I won.
I was so happy. It is really cool. It is a card keeper kit. It will make a little notebook with plastic photo album type pages that will hold cards. It will be really cute!

It is officially summer for me and I am planning to spend time crafting each week, hopefully a couple of times. I am headed to San Antonio for a couple of days with my Brett and Zoe and our friends the Rodgers. We are going to hang out and go to Fiesta Texas (six flags). It is our first "vacation with friends" since we've been married. Isn't that fun?

Anyhoo, when I get back I can't wait to make my card keeper and make some cards. I haven't made ANYTHING in the past couple weeks. With school winding down I have been swamped. I want to make a huge supply of birthday cards this summer and maybe get started on Christmas cards. I have lots of cards from other blogs that I want to copy! :)

Hope everyone's summer kicks off well! See you soon!

RAKS from Card Making International

I received two lovely cards recently from ladies in my yahoo group, Card Making international. The first is from Annika. She stamped a pretty flower on glossy paper and then also stamped a faux ribbon that says thinking of you. I love the ribbon stamp and would like to find it. I am still planning to order the faux ribbon set from Papertrey Ink but I like that this one has words on it. Annika told me it is from Hero Arts.

The second card is done with Iris folding by Anne. She drew her stems. I really like the whimsy of these blooms!

Thanks for thinking of me ladies!
See you all soon. I do plan on stamping sometime soon. Tomorrow is the last day of school for students! It is a darn good feeling. I have check out on Friday and graduation on Saturday and then it is just me, Zoe, travel and stamping for 3 months! Yay!!

Mother's Day Card from Brett

I have to share the wonderful card I received for Mother's Day. Brett made it himself. He cuttlebuged, cropped, glued, stamped and even used ribbon. I was so impressed. It just makes me really happy that he made me something that he knows I love. I really am a lucky woman. He used certainly celery paper, cranberry crisp ink, sentiments from love matters, and seeing spots. He likes cards that have something in them and so he did a lot of great work inside. He always wonders why my cards are blank.

He got up with the baby and helped her get ready for church. He took me to lunch but Zoe was so grumpy that we had to take it to go! The joy of eating out with infants, right?

I was able to go and get a massage and take a nap. Our neighbor's, Candy and Elias, invited us over for a barbaque so I dinner was taken care of too. It was great. Candy is also Zoe's babysitter and so Zoe had a great time over there.

I love being a mom and I am so blessed with a terrific husband. I love being his helper. Zoe is just the best little thing ever. Nothing beats this mommy business. :)

Stampers 10 class and swap

I wanted to share the great cards we made at our class this month and also the cards we swapped. Tracy Rhodes was the demonstrator and designed the workshop cards. She is so talented. I wish I had her talent. She has a brand new baby and lots of energy to make beautiful cards.
This first card is 5x5 square and made with versamark and a brayer with a spectrum pad. We put a large clear stone on the front with an image underneath. It is a really cool card. I don't usually come up with such bold color combos but I really like this one.

Next we made a mother's day card that was a simple layout and I great way to use up patterned paper scraps. I used the same layout for the thank you's for Sarah' s shower that I posted earlier.
Our swaps this month were supposed to have something embossed on them. Mine were emossed with the cuttlebug but most were heat embossed.
Angie used the "Lovely as a Tree" set and I loved it. I think I need that set. Gee thanks Angie!
I really liked Tracy's 4 tile card. I love this layout.

Chrystel's is so beautiful too. She punched out the center circle and embossed the inside of the card with the coffee mug. She is a very talented woman. Here are some of the other cards as well. I am so lucky to be in a group with such talented women.

Thanks Tracy!

Well Tracy, from Tracy's Happy Place, sent me a thank you card with some Bella images and some scalloped circle and oval punches. These are my first Bella images every and it is VERY exciting. I can't wait to color them. I really liked her card. I'm am pretty sure the images are Stampin' Up on the card but I'm no expert! I had entered her "alter something" contest. I entered my journal that I posted lat month. I had made it for my cousing that is expecting twins.

Anyway, thanks Tracy! I loved my surprise!!

First the Shower

This is my friend Sarah. She is having a baby girl next month.

I was a hostess for Sarah's baby shower. I wanted to share with you some of the creations for the event. You already saw the May baskets and those were a hit. I wanted to show you the invitations too. I completely CASE'd (copied and stole everything) from Kendra Giles. She gave me permission though!

I used blush blossom and cream. I used the cuttlebug die, heartfelt thanks and a clear G studio stamp.

Okay, I also have to show you my cool watermelon creation. I wanted to make a baby carriage out of the watermelon and didn't think I'd really be able to do it but it turned out pretty well I think. I was proud of it. What do you think?

And finally, I wanted to give her some thank you notes and made these using the same paper I used for the May Baskets. They were a simple design I learned at my stampin' workshop. I used more of the G studio stamps for the thank you and the paper is from Daisy D's. I love party planning. Maybe I should look into it...hee hee.

I sponged some rose red onto white cardstock, cut the paper into 1.5 inch strips. Then on the center panel I labeled some unknown pink cardstock on barely banana and stamped the "Thank You" and rattles on top. I used the flower punch and a brad as well.

Mail Goodies!

Hi again today!
I wanted to show you a couple of cards I got in the mail. This first one is from my secret stamper this month in the SU group I am in. I took the picture a bit crooked! Her cute card was straight!! I really liked her colors and the two parallel ribbons.

Secondly I got my first RAK from Split Coast Stampers. Well, it was a welcome RAK. This beauty is from Nikki Gemblin. I didn't see her name on the blogger list but her gallery is stampernicci. Go check out her beautiful cards!
Okay I am off to Michael's for some last minute things to stuff my May baskets and I guess while I'm there I may just have to check out the Martha line everyone seems to have an opinion about. Plus I have a gift certificate burnin' a hole in my pocket!
Have a great week ya'll! See you soon!

Happy May Day! (yesterday)

I love May Day! When I was young on the first of May at school we got to dance around the May Pole with ribbons in P.E. class and make a May basket. In the evening my mom would take me to someone's house to drop off the May Basket secretly. We always put fresh lilacs in it and some candy. We would ring the door bell and run away.

Most people have no idea what I am talking about! Anyway for a baby shower I am hosting this weekend I have made May baskets for the guests. I am going to put some candy, a lotion and a flower in the baskets. I don't think I can find lilacs so I'll just use a daisy or something. Here is a picture of the baskets. I used Daisy D's paper and a little ribbon. I made them small since we aren't putting a lot in them. I made 30 of them. Have a great May and see you soon!
