A Good Friend

I want to write this post about my friend Deborah. I met her when I moved to Amarillo in 1999. We moved there at the same time with about 30 other people because we were starting a church there. It was a very amazing experience and because there were so few of us working really hard to share the gospel we got to know each other really well. I knew that Debbie was into making cards and stamping but I was single and that just wasn't my thing but I knew she was very talented. I even spent New Year's of 2000 with her and she had us doing crafts! But besides being crafty she is very kind hearted and is a true servant. I really appreciate her and her sincere friendship. She doesn't expect me to be perfect, just to be myself.

Once Brett and I were engaged her photography skills were put to use and she took our engagement photos. She then decorated for our wedding and everything was so very beautiful. We both even moved to Houston at the same time but she then moved to the outside of Fort Worth. Since I've been in Houston I started stamping and crafting and it is fun now that we have one more common bond. She came to Zoe's birthday party and brought at least 2 dozen cards that she had made and gave them to me. Then last week she sent me some happy mail with this beautiful card and these cuttlebug papers (she has more embossing folders than me and was nice enough to share). She also has a great blog, Turtle Chronicles, that everyone should check out!

This past weekend Brett and I were going to visit some family in the DFW area and we decided to stay with Debbie and her family. Brett and David get along so well and their daughter was nice enough to give up her bedroom for us. While we were there Debbie taught me the coolest way to get 62 card fronts from a few sheets of 12 x12. She provided the supplies and let me go to town. You know a true friend when she shares her adhesive! (hee hee) I took a picture of a few of the ones we made. They are just ready to be embellished or stamped and sent off. What a fun way to make bulk cards!
So, Debbie, thanks for your friendship. It means so much to me! I'm so grateful that God has seen fit to keep our paths parallel for so long! Let's keep up the fight for faith together!

Well, that's it for today. Zoe is finishing her nuggets and beans and I need to get a move on! Have a great week everyone! See ya soon!
